Superloop has signed a deal with Leaptel for backhaul services for Australia in a three-year deal the telco claims is expected to be worth up to $5 million during the life of the contract.
The agreement sees the telco provide virtual network to network interface (VNNI) backhaul for 121 National Broadband Network (NBN) point of interconnects (POI) and inter capital Ethernet services.
Over the life of the contract, Superloop expects the value of the contract to range from $4 million to $5 million.
“Partnerships like this are key to our vision of the challenger segment of the telco market taking a collective 30 per cent market share,” said Superloop CEO Paul Tyler.
Leaptel CEO Matthew Enger said the telco’s backhaul solution would support the Melbourne-based internet service provider through its next phase of growth, which includes the delivery of higher speed tiers and the launch of multi-gigabit speeds.
Superloop group executive of business and wholesale Daisey Stampfer said that the two companies are “young, fast and flexible” and are a great match for each other.
“Superloop wholesale enables challenger RSPs like Leaptel to leverage our network investment by offering flexibility, reliability and bespoke solutions. Our VNNI backhaul solution aligns perfectly with Leaptel’s expansion needs,” she added.
In June this year, Superloop signed three partnerships within its Smart Communities division, worth about $20 million in total customer value.
