Spark Health is partnering with NZ-based Celo to deliver secure collaboration solutions and with Australia’s Visionflex to provide virtual care solutions, both nationwide.

Celo will enable Spark Health to offer customers secure team and patient collaboration services, allowing healthcare providers to easily switch between their preferred communication medium while ensuring clinical notes are managed in a secure and structured manner.

“Spark Health’s clinician-led approach aligns perfectly with our mission at Celo to support the healthcare workforce,” said Steve Vlok, CEO of Celo.

The partnership would allow Celo to rapidly expand its reach to healthcare teams nationwide, he said.

“Together, we’re enabling clinicians to easily connect with each other and their patients, moving away from the reliance on less secure tools like WhatsApp, email and texting, which don’t meet patient privacy standards and are still commonly used across the New Zealand health sector,” he said.

The Celo solution was chosen by Spark Health for capabilities, including its use of healthcare-grade encryption to protect patient information, usability within the practice setting, scalability, and the flexibility to incorporate the patient via external chat in a secure way.

The suite ensured healthcare professionals could make informed medical decisions remotely and bridge the gap between in-person and virtual care.

“Celo’s advanced secure messaging platform is a mobile friendly tool that allows healthcare providers to collaborate and communicate effectively between themselves, as well as their patients through a communication channel, similar to what they typically use in their daily lives,” said John Macaskill-Smith, CEO of Spark Health.

Spark Health will provide Celo as an option for customers as part of its mobile nealth ecosystem.

Meanwhile, the Visionflex platform enabled healthcare providers to perform consultations remotely, a significant step toward expanding healthcare access across New Zealand.

“Spark Health identified our product suite as a standout due to its proven ability to provide clinical-grade diagnostics remotely,” said Josh Mundey, CEO of Visionflex.

“This partnership marks a significant milestone in our growth strategy as we continue to deliver innovative virtual health solutions to more healthcare providers and patients across New Zealand.”

Spark Health said the Visionflex solution was chosen to bridge the gap between in-person and virtual care using capabilities including seamless integration with medical peripherals, scalability for diverse clinical environments, advanced data security and the flexibility to adapt to various healthcare provider needs.

Macaskill-Smith said Visionflex’s platform offered healthcare providers the tools they needed to make informed medical decisions while also benefiting patients by increasing access to specialised care and reducing travel time.
