New Zealand data security company DataMasque has achieved AWS security competency, recognising its technical expertise with security in AWS and success securing cloud native datastores with its data masking technology.
“With less than thirty software companies globally having achieved this competency in the data protection category, gaining this competency demonstrates the technical superiority of the DataMasque solution coupled with real world customer deployments globally on AWS,” said Grant de Leeuw, CEO and co-founder of Auckland-based DataMasque.
DataMasque helps regulated global AWS users including payroll provider ADP, credit reporter Experian, insurers ICICI Lombard and Resolution Life and Best Western Hotel Group to protect their data and meet key regulatory requirements.
Best Western, for instance, uses DataMasque on AWS to strengthen itd security posture against potential data breaches and automate key processes.
“DataMasque helps us lower the likelihood of a breach and secures our customers’ data, which means we avoid expensive regulatory fines,” said Joseph Landucci, the hotelier’s director of technology management.
To achieve the AWS data protection security competency, a first for a New Zealand organisation, DataMasque had to participate in a detailed competence evaluation and a review of its customer deployments on AWS.
DataMasque, which is available on AWS Marketplace, is also participating in the AWS independent software vendor accelerate programme and was the winner of the rising star ISV partner of the year award for Asia Pacific and Japan in 2023.
The company is also the only global data de-identification partner for Amazon HealthLake, a regulated service for clinical data ingestion, storage, and analysis.
Last year, DataMasque secured $2.7 million in funding in a round led by Australian venture capital firm OIF Ventures with a contribution from Icehouse Ventures.
