Here is today’s sustainable IT services and climate tech news, research and analysis — written for technology partners, green IT service providers, CIOs, chief sustainability officers (CSOs) and climate accounting professionals.
1. Honored – Sustainable IT Services: Research firm Canalys identified Dell, HP, Lenovo and Schneider Electric as Champions in the 2025 Sustainable Ecosystems Leadership Matrix. The Matrix examines how vendors embraced sustainability internally and the extent to which they promoted sustainability in the partner ecosystem. The Champions demonstrated leadership on both fronts and worked to engage other companies to advance environmental sustainability.
2. Partnership – ESG Software Deployment: Aktia has partnered with BearingPoint to deploy Workiva’s cloud-based software for financial and ESG data reporting.
3. Partnership- IT and Financial Services: Schneider Electric and the Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF) are working together to “deliver innovative solutions to clients in the financial services sector.” Leveraging PCAF’s GHG accounting methodologies, the collaboration “aims to support financial institutions in addressing and meeting their climate challenges and goals while fostering a low-carbon transition,” the two organizations said.
4. Partnership – IT Services and Aviation: Capgemini and startup Ascendance are partnering to “accelerate sustainable aviation at scale, powered by hybrid electric propulsion technology,” the two companies said.
5. Automated Website Development: GreenGeeks, which specializes in environmentally friendly web hosting, has launched an AI-Powered Website Builder for WordPress. The automation tool allows users to build WordPress websites in under 60 seconds, GreenGeeks asserts.
6. Built Environment: The Green Building Initiative (GBI) has updated its suite of third-party sustainability building assessment and certification tools. The latest offering, called Green Globes Journey to Net Zero, allows owners or managers of any building to “evaluate current site Energy Use Intensity (EUI) and/or carbon emissions (CO2e) on the pathway to net zero,” the company said.
1. Startup Funding – Carbon Ratings Agency: BeZero Carbon has raised $32 million in Series C funding. GenZero led the round, with additional funding from the Japan Airlines and Translink Innovation Fund.
2. Startup Funding – IT Asset Management (ITAM): Workwize, which develops an IT hardware asset management platform, has raised $13 million in Series A funding. Klass Capital led the round. Early investors Peak and Graduate Entrepreneur Fund also partner in the round.
3. M&A – Environmental Consultants: Impact Environmental of Lyndhurst, New Jersey, has acquired the engineering and consulting division of PT Consultants. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
