Smart meter provider Bluecurrent has appointed three new members to its executive team, including former Microsoft A/NZ channel sales and partnerships director Matt Bostwick, effective from 23 September.
As part of Microsoft’s leadership team in New Zealand, Bostwick played an important role in securing the country’s first hyperscale cloud datacentre region, due to open in late 2024.
He also led a Microsoft-backed project with New Zealand-based SaaS company Straker to develop an AI-driven indigenous language translation engine, enabling news outlet Stuff to publish more news in te reo Māori.
Sara Broadhurst joins as chief human resources officer from Fortis Street where she was a director, working with clients from a wide range of industries, principally in people strategy, coaching and team dynamics.
Broadhurst brings more than 20 years working in people and communications in the UK, NZ and Australia and has held HR roles at Oji Fibre Solutions, Waka Kotahi and Chorus.
Richard Fink also joins as chief product officer. Most recently he led the turnaround to growth and eventual sale of Global Speech Networks. He has 20 years of executive leadership experience.
In December, Bluecurrent and Spark cracked a record one million CAT-M1 IoT connections to Spark’s network. The CAT-M1 network technology allows for an easy transition to 5G, without requiring a site visit.
Bluecurrent was formerly known as Vector Metering and is still half owned by the Auckland-based power company alongside other investment firms.
