Canon Business Services Australia (CBS) has appointed Raji Haththotuwegama to head up its data and AI division.
As head of data and AI, Haththotuwegama will support and lead a team of data and AI specialists, providing technical analysis and design reviews while also facilitating knowledge sharing and mentoring.
Prior to joining CBS, Haththotuwegama was head of data and AI with IT service provider Tecala for over three years. He also previously worked with MCS Mobility, IT Assist Australia, Urban Agent and Computer Systems Australia, as well as operated in a number of technical roles at Westpac, Macquarie Group and the Commonwealth Bank of Australia.
Additionally, was also founder and CEO of his data analytics startup, Magellan Digital.
Stephanie Wang, Canon Business Services Australia general manager claimed that Haththotuwegama will play a “pivotal role” in the company’s data and AI practice.
“Raji will provide strong technical leadership, and support clients to create a clear and practical roadmap that will assist them to meet their business goals,” she said.
With more than 25 years in IT, including a decade in data science and AI, Haththotuwegama has led numerous programs that have transformed businesses through data modernisation, intelligent automation and AI.
“I believe we are only just beginning to take advantage of the power of AI and data in the business sector,” he said. “I am looking forward to working with Canon Business Services’ clients to help modernise [its] data infrastructure, harness the power of AI and move toward sustainable growth with secure, compliant and responsible technologies.”
