IT service provider NTT Data has expanded its partnership with Google Cloud to develop cloud-based data and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions tailored to industry-specific needs in Asia Pacific (APAC).

The partnership will see the two vendors introduce a dedicated NTT Data Google Cloud Business Unit to develop joint solutions focused on data analytics and generative AI.

It will also provide augmented support for applications and modern infrastructure, cyber security and SAP on Google Cloud Platform.

These customised solutions will be targeted at the healthcare, life sciences, financial services, insurance, manufacturing, retail and public sectors.

The expanded partnership brings together NTT Data’s expertise in digital transformation and understanding of APAC markets with Google Cloud’s AI and cloud solutions, NTT Data APAC CEO John Lombard said.

“This isn’t just about adopting new technologies, it’s about reimagining what’s possible for businesses in the AI age,” he added. “This collaboration with Google Cloud is expected to grow our cloud business in APAC by [more than 10 times] in three years.”

To meet the ramp up, NTT Data will hire and upskill sales, pre-sales and delivery professionals on Google Cloud, equipping them to sell, build, secure, migrate and deliver joint solutions to customers.

Currently, the IT service provider has 2,600 Google-certified engineers in 50 countries and plans to certify at least 1,000 more in the APAC region.

NTT Data’s in-house expertise in Google Cloud technologies will also be provided with advanced training and certification programs.
