Blackpearl Group has appointed Jean-Francois Arlove as its new chief financial officer, effective 15 October, while current CFO Karen Cargill becomes chief governance officer.

NZX-listed Blackpearl last week announced it would undertake a $10 million capital raise after it reached $10.4 million in annual recurring revenue.

“Having experienced exponential growth, it’s a critical time to focus on the key roles that will help us build a solid platform for continued expansion,” CEO and founder Nick Lissette said of the appointments.

Arlove has extensive experience in CFO and COO roles within the advertising and marketing industries and has been a practicing accountant for over two decades.

“As a business, Blackpearl Group is at an inflection point and now is the time to ensure our systems and processes are designed to scale,” Arlove said.

Arlove said he plans to use a data-driven leadership style to empower the team to iterate quickly around impactful decisions that align the company’s strategic objectives and priorities.

As chief governance officer, Cargill will step away from day-to-day financial management to focus on the company’s governance. She will, however, tap into her significant global audit experience to deliver the company’s NZX financial reporting.

Cargill played a key role in driving Blackpearl Group’s NZX listing in December 2022.

The company’s core product, dubbed Pearl Diver, shows businesses the individuals visiting their websites, including the visitor’s name, contact numbers, email addresses, physical addresses, job information and more. It also offers an email signature generator, New Old Stamp.

In December 2023, Blackpearl announced it was recruiting partners to take those products to market after launching a partner programme that September.
