Bluechip Infotech has expanded its relationship with Motorola Solutions and added the latter’s Avigilon Alta Access Control line of cloud-based access control systems.
The distributor has held Avigilon Unity within its portfolio since before its rebrand from Open Path. The vendor, founded in 2016 and acquired by Motorola Solutions in 2021, then changed its name under the Alta franchise.
Bluechip claimed it added Alta Access Control to its portfolio due to the rise of cloud-based security systems.
“The changing environment to subscription-based products and a focus away from server architecture makes [this] offering very attractive to the Bluechip customer base,” said Bluechip head of sales for electronic security and infrastructure Matthew Harvey.
“A lot of these firms are geared to servicing their customers in all their IT spaces including IT security and their devices which are needed to complete that infrastructure.
“Adding the Access Control side of Alta helps complete a nice circle for Alta alongside the advance range of video security lines already working on the cloud architecture running on Alta Aware. We are excited to see these lines grow in the Australian market.”
Ron Jarvis, Bluechip sales director, added that the deal is “a significant step” for Bluechip Infotech in fortifying its cloud security offering.
The distributor’s agreement with Motorola Solutions comes months after it added email signature solutions provider Exclaimer to its portfolio in July.
