Atturra has completed the first phase of a development portal, a customer portal and customer relationship management (CRM) solution for Unitywater in southeast Queensland.
Unitywater provides essential water and wastewater services to over 800,000 people in Moreton Bay, the Sunshine Coast and Noosa.
The development portal, hosted on Microsoft Azure, integrates seamlessly with other Unitywater applications that have been deployed previously.
These include Novoplan, Gentrack and Maximo, which support automating repetitive processes like notifications and data updates.
Atturra’s Cloud Business Solutions team designed the development portal powered by the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Experience Platform.
Previously, Unitywater was reliant on multiple tools to manage applications. ARN understands this project was designed to replace the previous manual process of siloed and outdated applications, email chains and spreadsheets.
“Previously, there were a lot of manual steps needed to manage application processing, which was taking up a lot of admin time and had issues with errors and data quality/reliability,” a spokesperson for Atturra said.
“Unitywater also wanted to provide self-service capabilities for developers, including payments and to have a way to collect accurate data for analytics purposes.”
The utility company initiated the project in late 2022 when it invited a small number of Microsoft-recommended partners to participate in the procurement process.
Atturra has worked with the utility company in the past but this is the first time the IT service provider’s cloud business solutions has been tapped to provide its services.
Unitywater’s executive manager Katherine Gee said the improvements implemented together have laid the foundation for more significant system improvement.
“We’re facing high levels of growth in our region and the new system provides a foundation for delivering more approvals to enable this growth,” she added.
Phase two of Atturra’s work at Unitywater will involve further enhancements and functionality to enrich the user experience for developers and certifiers.
