Mimecast has appointed Lizelle Hughes to the newly created role of partner leader for the Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ) region.

Hughes will spearhead incremental partner generated business for the security vendor through resellers, managed service providers, distributors and the company’s tech alliance partners.

“I look forward to working closely with partners to deliver comprehensive offering for our customers,” Hughes said.

Pauline Tng senior director channel APAC at Mimecast told ARN Hughes’ channel role is part of its investment in A/NZ.

“Lizelle will help us grow as a company and build on our large install base in the region,” she said. “As we embark on our geo expansion initiative around the globe, the ASEAN region and beyond presents extremely attractive opportunities for Mimecast.”

Hughes will be based in Sydney, while Tng will continue to operate from the Singapore office.

“We believe this allows for the business to continue deepening our focus in A/NZ, while scaling out in growth regions,” she said.

Hughes joins Mimecast with a distinguished career spanning over 21 years of experience, marked by significant achievements in technical consultancy, technical pre-sales, product marketing, strategy, sales, technology partnerships and channel.

Prior to this role, she led the ISV and SaaS partnerships team at Microsoft Australia. She has also worked at Amazon Web Services (AWS), NetApp and ManageSoft Corporation.

In 2016, Hughes was highly commended at the ARN Australia Women in ICT Awards for achievement in the Channel and was a finalist again in 2018.

Outside of work, she sits on the Board of Spectrum Migrant Resource Centre, serving refugees, migrants and the aged care sector in Melbourne, and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
