Avanade has promoted Carla Ramchand to the role of CEO, effective immediately.
She replaces Laura Malcolm, who left the company in July of this year after 10 years.
Malcolm wrote in a LinkedIn post that she will enjoy “some downtime” before she prepares for her “next adventure”.
“I finished up at Avanade after 10 incredible years, with almost [three] years as the Australia general manager,” she said. “When I joined, I didn’t expect that I’d spend 10 years with the company or that I’d get to be a CTO, COO and GM.”
As CEO, Ramchand will look to continue to grow service provider’s local business and oversee Avanade’s offices in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.
“I lead the overall Avanade business in Australia – one of our largest and most strategic markets globally. In this role, I am responsible for the growth of Avanade’s people, business and market leadership in the Microsoft ecosystem,” she wrote on her LinkedIn page.
Ramchand joined Avanade in 2019 as an executive modern workplace at Avanade and Accenture Microsoft – growth markets.
Since then, she has held various positions, including managing director of Avanade technology business group and growth markets, starting in September 2023.
This includes the role of COO in Australia at Avanade from January 2021 to September 2023.
Before joining Avanade, she held key roles as executive general manager for cyber security at IBM, head of business development and head of networks, applications and services sales for Telstra’s enterprise and government business.
“It is an exciting time to be stepping into this role as AI becomes more pervasive and develops at a rapid pace – creating significant economic opportunity for Australia,” Ramchand said.
