Integrated IT services provider xAmplify has signed a $7.7 million deal with the Australian National Audit Office (ANAO) to be its primary managed services provider (MSP).

The contract was awarded via a competitive tender and is for an initial three-year period.

Tom Scicluna, xAmplify COO referred to the deal as a “landmark agreement” and claimed it “represents a major step forward in xAmplify’s mission to modernise the public sector’s IT managed services landscape”.

“This contract with the ANAO validates our vision to challenge traditional IT managed services models,” he said.

The company’s service model operates in collaboration with Canberra-based systems integrator (SI) A23 for infrastructure and cloud services.

“A23, under subcontract with xAmplify, has an important role in delivering the infrastructure and cloud management component of the contract,” an xAmplify spokesperson said to ARN.

Currently, the project is in a transition period, which is expected to finish on 31 October and afterwards will see xAmplify and A23 fully take on the role of ANAO’s MSP.

A23 CEO Natalie Legg added that the partnership between the SI and xAmplify “exemplifies a new way of working that focuses on talent, collaboration and true value for government”.

The service provider’s contract with the ANAO comes close to two months after CSO Group and xAmplify announced their intentions in late July to merge together to create an AI and cyber security powerhouse.
