Dicker Data has signed a distribution deal with Equinix to provide the data centre operator’s suite of services for the Australian market.

Under the agreement, Dicker Data will distribute all of Equinix’s services, except for bare metal, through the operator’s data centres nationwide.

According to Dicker Data executive director and COO Vlad Mitnovetski, the partnership is a key pillar in the distributor’s AI strategy, particularly as it works with local partners that are deploying AI solutions with varied power and security needs.

He also said the agreement comes as the distributor sees growth in its data centre infrastructure business.

“This partnership brings the company into the last mile conversation on where and how the hardware we distribute is deployed and managed on an ongoing basis,” Mitnovetski said.

Meanwhile, Equnix Australia managing director Guy Danskine claimed that the partnership will open new opportunities “for partners to increase recurring revenue streams for data centre, network, cloud and software-as-a-service elements on their customers’ digital infrastructure”.

Dicker Data’s agreement with Equinix comes nearly two months after it signed an Australian deal with Smart Technologies.
