Network and digital services integrator Orange Business has partnered with Perth-based satellite service company Sat.One to boost connectivity in underserviced regional areas in Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ).
The partnership will see Eutelsat’s OneWeb low-earth-orbit (LEO) technology being used to deliver internet connectivity to remote regions through a multi-year deal signed by Sat.One in 2023.
Under that agreement, the satellite service company will provide OneWeb low Earth orbit satellite services in the region.
Orange SA and Eutelsat previously signed a global agreement back in 2023.
This partnership will now be extended locally to deliver support of real-time data connection and communications to Orange Business’ customers across the mining, oil, gas, public sector and financial service industries throughout A/NZ.
The partnership between Orange Business and Sat.One will also see enterprise grade satellite internet connectivity be offered in hard-to-reach areas that previously could not be served with enhanced latency.
Other benefits of the partnership include increased resiliency and geographical reach for enterprise solutions and backhauling in remote locations, claimed both organisations.
Orange Business managing director for A/NZ Andrew Borthwick said the vast and remote nature of Australia means many of its key industries operate in hard-to-reach locations that require reliable, seamless and secure connectivity.
“By combining our expertise with Sat.One’s, we can provide enterprise customers with high-speed access to digital information, productivity tools, and cloud services, even in the most remote locations,” he claimed.
