NetApp has hired former Juniper Networks senior director of sales and general manager for Australia Jim Burke, bringing him on as senior director of enterprise sales for Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ).
In the newly created role, Burke is set to play a “critical role” in ensuring NetApp customers adapt to changing market demands by how they manage data, according to the storage vendor.
He comes into the position with over 25 years of experience in the industry, with the last six spent at Juniper. He has also worked at Dimension Data, Telstra, Vodafone and Spark NZ.
The vendor claimed that Burke’s leadership will be “pivotal as NetApp continues to push boundaries and support organisations in transforming their IT environments”.
On his appointment, Burke said that he would be leading the company’s enterprise team in delivering solutions.
“We are taking the conversation about data from the engine room of the IT team to the boardroom, making data infrastructure a critical topic for C-level discussions,” he added.
Burke’s appointment comes months after NetApp hired Mark Fioretto in July as its A/NZ vice president and managing director.
